Planning permission for a pair of new houses in a rural hamlet

We are delighted to obtain planning permission for a small rural development just outside of Preston. The pair of houses replace a semi-derelict, post war bungalow with a modest yet composed development. The design seeks to to achieve a quiet form, adding coherence and an identifiable local distinctiveness to a much disjointed street scene.

Each house includes a stepped out ground foor which provides a courtyard garden encouraging natural light into the kitchen and dining room with the living room – opening out on to the rear garden. A restrained material palette and combination of familiar building elements instills a quiet but confident pair of houses that are complimentary in their character, clearly of their time, yet with an identity firmly routed to their rural setting.
