Founder, Director, ARB, RIBA
Tim and I co-founded TaylorHare in 2014 after first meeting as post-graduate students, initially working out of Tim’s house and building up to the thriving international studio you see today.
I have shaped TaylorHare’s design process around a simple ambition: to pursue the highest quality of work across every sphere of the practice. This demands a rigorous and continually evolving approach to design, with an understanding that perfection is never quite attainable—but that the pursuit of it is what drives us forward.
Some might call this pursuit relentless; I prefer to see it as a reflection of grit, curiosity and determination. It is this mindset that underpins how I approach architecture, from the earliest conceptual ideas through to the smallest details of a finished building.
I have been a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) since 2013 and am currently pursuing accreditation as a conservation architect, further developing my interest in the relationship between architecture, history and place.
Making is also central to my design process. I enjoy working with my hands and believe that drawing, modelling and making are powerful ways to explore and communicate ideas. Within the practice, physical models play an important role in testing proportion, materiality and detail.
Away from architecture, my greatest priority is spending time with my wife, Jess, and our two daughters, Aurora and Coco. When I’m not with them, I’m usually designing or making furniture. If you visit the studio, you’ll find a collection of finely crafted scale models—each one part of an ongoing process of testing, refining and making ideas tangible.
